How often should I get a checkup and cleaning?
We recommend that every patient should attend at least two preventive appointments every year, or about one every 6 months. This is the best way to take care of minor problems before they can become major ones, and regular cleanings can prevent many issues from popping up in the first place!
When should I schedule my child’s first dental appointment?
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry says that a child’s first dental appointment should be scheduled as soon as their first tooth appears or no later than their first birthday…whichever comes first! When you bring your child to see Dr. McClain, she’ll perform a gentle exam to make sure everything is developing correctly, and by the time your child turns 3, they’ll begin having regular checkups and cleanings more similar to your own.
How should I replace my missing teeth?
This answer will be different for every patient depending on their particular situation, but in most cases, we will first recommend dental implants. In short, they are the most stable, reliable, and natural-looking tooth replacement available today, able to fully replicate an entire tooth in beautiful detail. Is there a treatment other than metal braces for straightening teeth?
Yes, and it’s called Invisalign. Instead of brackets and wires, it uses a series of thin, clear plastic aligners to gently shift the teeth into their ideal positions. They’re sleek, discreet, and no one will notice you’re using Invisalign unless you tell them! Plus, you can easily take them off whenever you need to eat or brush your teeth. To learn more about this treatment and see if it can help you get the straighter smile you’ve always wanted, contact us today.
Will you accept my dental insurance?
Goodlettsville Smiles accepts and is in-network with several major dental insurance providers, and we’re happy to accept out-of-network plans, too! You can view a list of our accepted plans on our For Patients page, but if you can’t find your provider on it, we may still be able to work with your plan! Give us a call today to learn more about how we can help you save.
